Student Accommodation

In addition to the conference hotel, we have reserved a block of rooms at a nearby hotel, intended primarily for student attendees. These rooms are much cheaper, but it needs to be clearly understood that they are also extremely basic. One should imagine something closer to a youth hostel than a standard hotel. Each room contains a double bed or two twin beds, a writing desk and chair, and a closet. Washroom facilities are central on each floor. There are definitely no amenities such as television sets. However, the hotel is clean and appears to be run well by people who are trying to provide basic, affordable accommodation. For the conference, the rate is $70 plus taxes ($81.28 total) per night, single or double occupancy.

The location is the Aladdin Hotel, which is at 317 West 45th Street, approximately one block from the Marriott Marquis. The hotel web page is http://www.aladdinhotel.com/. The phone number for reservations is 212-977-5700. When making a reservation, please ask for Tanja and mention group number 421, which will allow them to locate our group reservation more easily than by using the name of the conference. Rooms are being held until June 4, a somewhat earlier cutoff date than for the Marriott Marquis. It is possible that rooms will be available after the cutoff date but, as always, the earlier you make your reservation, the better your chances.

Rooms are being held for June 25 arrival and June 28 departure, but if you reserve soon, the chances of obtaining a room for an additional day before or after those dates are very good.
